Dark Romance & Horror
L.M. Vane is an author, former goth, metalhead, and old-school tabletop RPG player.
Belgian, in his forties, originally from Binche, he grew up with Cradle of Filth and Rammstein in his ears and a dog-eared copy of Clive Barker's Books of Blood under his pillow. His first sleepless nights had nothing to do with insomnia: they belonged to Vampire: The Masquerade, where he played an ambitious Ventrue. Since then, he has haunted the chronicles of the World of Darkness, lost a few Humanity points he has no intention of recovering. He has also ventured into Kult: Divinity Lost.
On the literary side, his masters are those who never looked away: Clive Barker for flesh and the sacred, Lovecraft for cosmic horror and human insignificance, Stephen King for everyday terror, Anne Rice for the monsters you end up loving in spite of yourself. That's the DNA he writes from — stories where the night is not a backdrop but a character, where predators have charm and where victims are never quite innocent.
His work moves between horror, terror, psychological thriller, and dark romance. The common thread: broken characters, atmospheres that cling to your skin, and the quiet certainty that the worst is always human. Or almost.
When he's not writing, he listens to power metal, rereads the Book of Nod, and lifts weights at Basic-Fit. The progress bar climbs slowly. The night, however, never sleeps.
